Dr. Arshi Javaid is an Einstein Junior Scholar at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the Institute for Asian and African Studies. Her research focuses on gender, violence, conflict, and memory in South Asia, particularly Kashmir. She is the founder of the YAADGAR project, a memory archive for Srinagar's old city.
