Arno Pfitzner

Prof. Dr. Arno Pfitzner serves as Chair of Inorganic Chemistry at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Regensburg. He has held this position since 2000 and was previously Vice Dean (2004–2006) and Dean (2006–2008) of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy. Since 2004, he has been the Regional Editor of Monatshefte für Chemie – Chemical Monthly.

• Habilitation at the University of Siegen (1998)

Research Focus:
His work spans inorganic materials synthesis, particularly leveraging copper(I) halide matrices for novel materials. He investigates ion conductivity in lithium and copper(I) systems, structural chemistry of halogenide spinels, and modulated crystal structures using crystallographic computing tools like Jana2006.
