Dr. Arnau Call is a Ramon y Cajal researcher at the University of Girona (UdG), affiliated with the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (IQCC). His research focuses on light-driven catalytic processes, including stereoselective C-H amination and photocatalytic CO₂ reduction. He holds a PhD from UdG (2016) and has conducted postdoctoral research in Japan and the U.S. Key roles include a 3-month internship at Arizona State University and a 2-year stay at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ). Awards include the FPU Fellowship and Ramon y Cajal award. His work bridges experimental and computational methods, emphasizing sustainable catalysis.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Chemistry (UdG, 2011; Excellence Award)
- Master’s in Homogeneous Catalysis (UdG, 2012)
- PhD in Chemistry (UdG, 2016; FPU Fellowship)
Research Interests: Development of metal nitrenoid species for stereoselective amination, photocatalytic CO₂ reduction, and predictive statistical modeling in catalysis. Collaborations include Prof. Matthew Sigman (University of Utah) and Prof. Massimo Bietti (IQCC).
Grants & Labs: Participates in QBIS-CAT group projects on asymmetric C-H oxidation. Current focus includes multivariate linear regression analysis in catalytic processes.
