Armin Mehrabi

Dr. Armin Mehrabi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida International University (FIU), where he directs the FIU NDT Lab. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder (1994) and has extensive industry experience, including 12 years as President/Principal Engineer of Bridge Engineering Solutions (BES). His expertise spans non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of bridges, structural health monitoring (SHM), FRP applications, seismic analysis of masonry structures, and innovative bridge rehabilitation techniques. Mehrabi has developed patented technologies like the Laser-Based Cable Monitoring System and authored/co-authored over 125 publications. He is a registered Professional Engineer, ASCE Fellow, and Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors with six U.S. patents.
