Arjun Vishwanath is an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department at Boston University. His research focuses on representation, public opinion, and legislative politics within American politics, with a particular emphasis on how citizens' values are reflected in congressional actions. He is currently developing a book project examining substantive representation through political values. His work explores the interplay between values and political beliefs like ideology, issue stances, and social group perceptions, as well as electoral institutions' effects on representation.
