Ariel Helfer is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on ancient Greek political philosophy, particularly Plato and Socratic thought, while maintaining expertise in quantitative political methodology. He has held significant grants and fellowships, including a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship (2019) and the Marilyn Williamson Endowed Distinguished Faculty Fellowship (2025-26).
- Education: Ph.D. in Government from University of Texas at Austin (2015), M.A. (2013), B.A. in Political Science and Physics from Kenyon College (2008).
