Aric Mine is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Fresno State. His office is located in S2 120, and he holds regular office hours during Spring 2025. He can be contacted via amine@csufresno.edu. His academic journey includes a B.S. in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Biogeochemistry from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Mine's research focuses on nutrient cycles in aquatic systems and the role of microbes in Earth's climate and elemental cycles. He investigates microbial-scale processes and their impacts on global carbon fluxes, employing experimental methods to quantify enzymatic reactions and characterize microbial communities. Specific interests include the historical and spatial dynamics of biogeochemical cycles and their environmental implications.
He teaches courses such as EES 1, EES 4, EES 9, EES 31, EES 124, EES 130T, EES 187, EES 200, EES 250T, and NSCI 115. While no specific grants or awards are listed, his work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches linking microbiology with geology and environmental science.
