Ariana D. Meyers

Ariana D. Meyers serves as an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of North Dakota School of Law, joining the faculty as a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2024. She holds significant leadership positions including President of the Randy H. Lee Inn of Court in Grand Forks and chair of the State Bar Association of North Dakota's Family Law Section.

Professor Meyers specializes in family law with particular expertise in:

• Parenting plans and legal considerations regarding substance use
• Child custody arrangements and best interests of the child determinations
• Family law pedagogy and innovative teaching methodologies
• Bar exam preparation strategies for law students

Her scholarly work critically examines inconsistencies in legal standards, particularly how moral fitness factors are applied in child welfare cases. Professor Meyers employs visualization techniques to explain complex legal concepts like equitable division in family law proceedings, demonstrating her commitment to both substantive legal reform and educational innovation.

Professor Meyers regularly presents her research at national conferences including the Parenting Investigator/Guardian ad Litem Training, MN Paralegal Association Annual Convention, and Southeastern Association of Law Schools conference, where she shares practical strategies for drafting comprehensive parenting plans and enhancing family law education.

She actively mentors law students, supervising teams in national competitions including UND's participation in NYU's National Immigration Law Competition where her students advanced to the octofinal round and finished in the top 16 teams nationally.
