Argiris Delis

Argiris Delis is a Professor in Computational Mathematics at the School of Production Engineering & Management, Technical University of Crete, where he has been since 2022. Previously, he held roles as Associate Professor (2013–2022), Assistant Professor (2008–2013), and Lecturer (2003–2008). He is affiliated with several research laboratories, including the Turbomachines & Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and the Applied Mathematics and Computers Laboratory.

His research interests span Computational Mathematics, Numerical Analysis, Shallow Water Equations, Finite Volume Methods, and Traffic Flow Modeling. He has developed high-resolution numerical schemes for simulating wave propagation, sediment transport, and traffic dynamics, with applications to coastal engineering and intelligent transportation systems.

The articles reflect his expertise in numerical methods for Shallow Water Equations, Boussinesq-type models, and Traffic Flow. Recent work includes acoustic streaming simulations, optimization of wind turbines, and feedback control systems for traffic flow using adaptive cruise control models. His publications emphasize finite volume schemes, parallel computing, and wave propagation.

Labs & Teams: He is a member of the Turbomachines & Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and the Coastal Information and Research Unit (CIRUM), contributing to interdisciplinary projects like C-NORA (Micro-Macro Control of Transport Systems) and TRAMAN21 (Traffic Management).
