معرفی
Theodoros Katsaounis is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Crete, specializing in Applied and Computational Mathematics. His work focuses on numerical solutions for partial differential equations, mathematical modeling, and machine learning applications in fluid dynamics and renewable energy systems.
- Education: PhD from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (1994)
His research spans Computational Fluid Dynamics, Wave Propagation, and Renewable Energy Technologies, particularly solar cell modeling and forecasting. He has developed advanced numerical schemes for Schrödinger-Poisson systems, shallow water equations, and elastodynamics. Recent publications highlight machine learning integration for solar irradiance forecasting and error estimation in discontinuous Galerkin methods.
He leads the Applied Mathematics Laboratory at the University of Crete, contributing to interdisciplinary research in fluid dynamics and energy systems. Current projects include wind-forced ocean wave simulations and performance assessment of photovoltaic technologies under desert climates.
