Aren Long

Aren Long serves as Lecturer of Collaborative Piano at the University of Nevada, Reno's School of Music, with concurrent involvement in the Department of Theatre & Dance for music direction, teaching, and performance activities.

His educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Piano Performance, both earned at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Long's professional practice spans collaborative piano performance, theater music direction, and community-based music initiatives. He directs prison choirs and bands through the California Arts in Corrections Program while creating original work with Aren & the Neighborhood that explores mental health and trauma through "heart-wrenching" theatrical music. His performance career ranges from Kennedy Center organ solos to rural community venues and regional theater productions.

As an active performer, he has appeared at San Francisco's Warfield Hall, Reno's Artown festival, and with organizations including the Reno Philharmonic Chorus, Nevada Chamber Opera, and Reno Little Theater in productions like "Evil Dead the Musical" and "Something Rotten".
