Aravosis Konstantinos

Aravosis Konstantinos is Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Industrial Management & Operations Research. He has served at NTUA since 2007, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor (2012-2016), Associate Professor (2016-2020), and Professor (2020-present). Concurrently, he serves as Secretary General of the Natural Environment and Waters Ministry of Environment and Energy, Greece, and has been Visiting Professor at Imperial College and Associate Researcher at Columbia University-Earth Engineering Center since 2015.

His educational background includes:

• 1986: Dipl. Mechanical Engineer, Aachen University of Technology, Germany

Professor Konstantinos' research spans technological economics, environmental economics, and optimization of energy/waste management systems. His work focuses on evaluation methodologies including Life Cycle Analysis and Cost-Benefit Analysis, with applications in Corporate Social Responsibility systems and Public Private Partnership projects.

Professional leadership roles include:

• Elected President of the Hellenic Society for Solid Waste Management (EEDSA)
• President of the Hellenic Institute of Product & Service Management (EIDP)
• President of the National Council for Energy Recovery from Waste (SYNERGEIA)
• Member of the Standing Committee on Environment, Energy and Climate Change of the Technical Chamber of Greece

At NTUA, he teaches undergraduate courses in Technological Economics I & II, and postgraduate courses in Entrepreneurship, Environmental Management, and Clean Technologies across the ATHENS MBA and Environment and Development programs.
