Aram Bugaev

Dr. Aram Bugaev is a researcher at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland, leading a team under the SNSF Starting Grant in 2024. Previously, he served as Vice-Director of the Smart Materials Research Institute and Assistant Professor at Southern Federal University (Russia), where he earned his Habilitation in Physics (2021) and Master's in Physics (2014). His work focuses on operando characterization of catalysts using X-ray absorption spectroscopy and machine learning integration.

He has conducted over 100 experiments at synchrotrons and pioneered analytical methods combining machine learning with materials characterization.

In 2023, he joined PSI's operando spectroscopy group, supporting the ReMade@ARIE project as X-ray spectroscopy expert. He actively contributes to scientific committees for ALBA, SOLEIL, and EU-funded RIANA projects.
