April Sizemore-Barber is an Associate Professor of the Practice in Georgetown University's Women's Studies Program within the College. Her research focuses on intersections of performance, queer, and Africana studies, particularly in South African contexts. She holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Oberlin College. Her book Prismatic Performance: Queer South Africa and the Fragmentation of the Rainbow Nation (2020) critiques post-apartheid national identity through queer lenses.
- Teaches courses on gender studies, African sexualities, and queer cinema

Her publications analyze cultural performances challenging heteronormative and colonial narratives. Recent work explores queer masculinities, archival activism, and postcolonial identity politics. She reviews for prominent journals like Theatre Journal and contributes to decolonial performance theory.
