Apolline Gouzi

Apolline Gouzi is a PhD candidate and Gates Scholar at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Music, researching classical music festivals in post-WWII France. She holds degrees from Conservatoire de Paris and École Normale Supérieure de Paris, with an agrégation in music.

Her interdisciplinary work analyzes cultural reconstruction through festivals like Aix-en-Provence, examining public engagement strategies and artistic programming during France's rebuilding era. Significant publications explore gender in music unions and material histories of performance.

Awards include the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Center Prize for research on early feminist musicians. As a soprano, she performs with Pembroke College Chapel Choir.
