Aparna Kailasam, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine and a gynecologic oncologist at Yale Cancer Center. She specializes in the comprehensive surgical and medical management of gynecologic cancers, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care and long-term patient relationships.

Dr. Kailasam's research interests span cancer, community health, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, global health, and healthcare quality and efficiency. Her work focuses on improving patient outcomes through translational and health services research in gynecologic oncology. She is particularly interested in the intersection of obesity and endometrial cancer, hormonal therapies, and healthcare delivery optimization.
Her recent publications reflect a strong trend in endometrial cancer management, especially nonsurgical and hormonal approaches for obese patients, quality improvement in cervical cancer screening, and health policy issues such as chemotherapy shortages. She has also contributed to research on surgical outcomes and cost-effectiveness in gynecologic procedures.
