Aodhdín Casey is a Lecturer in the School of Business at Maynooth University. She holds a Fellowship from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has extensive industry experience, including roles as Director/Company Secretary at Misys Ireland Ltd and Audit Senior at KPMG. Her research focuses on the evolving service provision models of small and medium accountancy practices (SMPs), examining how technology, regulation, and shifting client behaviors influence their business models. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Dublin City University, exploring institutional perspectives on SMP challenges.
Professional affiliations include the American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association, and Irish Accounting and Finance Association (IAFA), where she served on the Council (2015–2019). Notable awards include the IAFA Doctoral Funding Competition Award (2022) and the Teaching Hero recognition (2021).
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating AC205 Management and Cost Accounting and AC311 Advanced Management Accounting. She has also led the BBS/BBA Business and Accounting Programme (2024) and the Final Year Undergraduate Accounting Programme (2015–2020). Outreach initiatives include founding the Transition Year Video Competition and Junior Certificate Business Studies Awards, fostering engagement with secondary education.
