Anushka Tay

Anushka Tay is an Associate Lecturer and PhD candidate at the London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London). Her research focuses on Chinese diaspora dress histories in the UK, exploring how clothing shapes ethnic and cultural identity. She teaches in the Cultural and Historical Studies Department, supervising MA Fashion Cultures students and tutoring BA students. Her academic journey includes a BA (1st) in Costume with Performance Design from Arts University Bournemouth (2009–2012) and an MA (Distinction) in Fashion Cultures from LCF (2015–2017).

Her research employs qualitative methods, including oral history interviews and analysis of material culture. Her work bridges academic research and creative practice, with a focus on diaspora communities and identity formation.
