Anuj Kapilashrami is Professor of Global Health Policy and Equity at the University of Essex, where she directs the Centre for Global Health & Intersectional Equity Research. With a PhD from Queen Margaret University and background in sociology and public health, her research examines structural determinants of health inequalities.
Professor Kapilashrami applies intersectionality frameworks to analyze migration health impacts, participatory governance models, and gender-violence determinants. Her current work investigates how intersecting social inequalities shape migrant health outcomes and develops community-led health interventions.
She serves on WHO advisory panels and leads initiatives promoting health justice through social movements and participatory research. Recent projects examine COVID-19's disproportionate impact on ethnic minority healthcare workers and develop methods for inclusive health policy design.
