Professor Anu Arora is a faculty member at the University of Liverpool, serving as a Professor in the Liverpool Law School since 1981. She holds a Ph.D. in Banking Law from the University of Birmingham and is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services (2003). Her research focuses on banking law, regulatory frameworks, commercial letters of credit, and corporate law. She currently serves as the Banking Law subject editor for the Journal of Business Law.
Teaching responsibilities include modules such as BANKING LAW (LAW317), COMPANY LAW (LAW029), and Corporate Governance and Directors’ Duties (LAW530). She has supervised a thesis on 'Criminal Abuse of Non-Traditional Payment Methods: A Comparative Analysis of AML/CTF Frameworks in the UK, US, and Australia.'
Professional roles include former Dean of the Liverpool Law School (2000–2008), Director of Internationalization for the Law School, and membership in committees like the University Council and Academic Standards Committee. Her publications span banking crises, regulatory responses, and legal analyses of financial institutions.
