Dr Antoinette Huber is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the University of Liverpool, part of the School of Law and Social Justice under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She joined in 2023 and holds a PhD (2020) from Liverpool John Moores University and an MPhil (2015) from the University of Cambridge.
Her research focuses on online sexual violence, gendered approaches to cybercrime, and extremist groups. Key areas include image-based sexual abuse, policing responses to digital coercion, and the intersection of misogyny with far-right extremism. She collaborates with third-sector organizations like VOIC and UK/EU commissions to inform policy and practice.
Recent grants include the N8 Policing Research Partnership (2023–2025) examining digitally enabled coercive control. Her teaching includes modules on cybercrime, criminology, and dissertation supervision. Notable publications analyze victim experiences, legislative gaps, and online safety frameworks.
Antoinette has contributed to criminology programs at multiple UK universities and advocates for research with tangible societal impact, particularly in victim support and justice system reforms.
