Antoine Williams is an Assistant Professor of Drawing at the University of Florida's Department of Art & Art History. He holds a BFA from UNC Charlotte (2003) and an MFA from UNC Chapel Hill (2014). His work explores race, class, and Afrofuturism through mixed-media and public art, blending traditional techniques with augmented reality. Notable projects include Mythic Futures (2023), a series of Afrofuturist murals in Washington DC. He has exhibited at venues like the Mint Museum, Smack Mellon Brooklyn, and 21c Museum. Awards include the Joan Mitchell Award and the Harpo Foundation Grant. Williams co-founded the God City Arts Collective and is a member of North Carolina Black Artists for Liberation, advocating for equitable art spaces.
