Dr. Anthony O. Ahmed is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and serves as the Vice Chair for Psychology in the Psychiatry Department. He is also an Associate Attending Psychologist for the Psychotic Disorders Division at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital.
- Education: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (University of Southern Mississippi, 2010), M.A. in Clinical Psychology (University of Southern Mississippi, 2007), B.Sc. in Psychology (University of Maryland, 2002)
Dr. Ahmed's research focuses on cognitive deficits in schizophrenia, negative symptom phenomenology, and neurobiological mechanisms of psychotic disorders. His work spans psychosocial interventions, cognitive remediation, and neuroimaging studies.
Recent publications highlight his expertise in visual processing remediation for schizophrenia, emotion-related impulsivity, and recovery-oriented care models. Key journals include Schizophrenia Research, Frontiers in Psychiatry, and Molecular Psychiatry.
