Anthony Michael Sayers is a Professor and Director of Canadian Governance Policy at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, University of Calgary. He also serves as Director of the Canadian Elections Database (CED), a comprehensive repository of federal, provincial, and territorial election results since 1867. His work examines electoral dynamics, party competition, and federal infrastructure distribution.

Research Focus
Professor Sayers' research explores electoral systems, political representation, and federal governance in Canada. Key projects include A Century of Solitude: Competitive Party Politics in Alberta (monograph in progress) and SSHRC-funded investigations into electoral cohesion and infrastructure allocation in federal states. The CED database underpins much of this work, enabling longitudinal analysis of Canadian elections.
Teaching and Service
He teaches courses in Canadian and Comparative Politics and contributed to the university initiative Human Dynamics in a Changing World (2015-2021).
