معرفی
Professor Anthony Kinloch holds a personal chair as 'Professor of Adhesion' at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London. He previously served as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2007 to 2012. His expertise spans adhesion science, adhesives, polymer fracture mechanics, nanocomposites, and fiber-composites.
Education: He earned a PhD and DSc (Eng) in Materials Science. His research focuses on advancing adhesion science through studies in fracture mechanics, toughened polymers, and nanomaterials. Over 200 refereed papers and patents, plus seven authored/edited books, reflect his extensive contributions to the field.
Research Interests: He investigates adhesion mechanisms, adhesive material design, and applications in nanocomposites and polymer systems. His work bridges fundamental science and industrial applications, particularly in mechanical and materials engineering.
- Awards & Honors:
- US Adhesion Society 3M Award (1992)
- Fellow of the Royal Society (2007)
- Royal Society Armourers & Brasiers Prize (2009)
Advising: Supervised over 80 students (50 PhDs and 30+ MScs) since his academic career. Active in interdisciplinary collaborations through affiliations like the Composites Centre and Adhesion & Adhesives Research Group.
Labs/Teams: Leads research within the Adhesion & Adhesives group at Imperial, contributing to the Mechanics of Materials and Nanomaterials initiatives.
