Anthony Caravaggi is a Lecturer in Conservation Biology and Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) International Wildlife Biology at the University of South Wales, based in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science. His research focuses on species-specific and community ecology, employing field studies, remote sensing, and computational tools like R and GIS to address questions about species distributions, habitat selection, and anthropogenic impacts. His work informs conservation policy, management, and commercial practices. He serves as Editor of *Milvus* and Associate Editor of *Remote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation*, *PeerJ Environment*, and *Frontiers in Bird Science*. He is also a member of the British Ecological Society’s Welsh Policy Group.
Research interests include conservation biology, population ecology, movement ecology, and spatial ecology. He explores threats to endangered species and invasive species management, using interdisciplinary approaches. His projects include mitigating wildlife-aircraft collisions, assessing polecat road mortality, and evaluating conservation frameworks for avocets in Wales.
Notable projects include *Supporting Hen Harriers in Novel Environments* and *Invasion Ecology of Non-native European Brown Hares*. He advocates for innovative science communication, such as Twitter conferences, and emphasizes rigorous welfare standards in wildlife research. His contributions span over 30 publications, focusing on applied conservation solutions and methodological transparency.
