Anthony C. Lopez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Washington State University (WSU) Vancouver, affiliated with the School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs (PPPA). He holds a Ph.D. from Brown University, an M.A. from the University of Denver’s Korbel School, and a B.A. from Pitzer College. His research integrates evolutionary psychology, political theory, and conflict studies to explore the origins and dynamics of warfare, focusing on topics like offense-defense theory, leader-follower psychology, and trauma’s role in radicalization.
- Teaches courses on International Relations, Political Science Research Methods, U.S. Foreign Policy, and the Psychology of War.
- Research areas include inter-group violence, deterrence, and the cognitive evolution of moral arguments in warfare.
