Anthony Archibong serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Physiology at Meharry Medical College School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in Obstetrics & Gynecology. He maintains active affiliations with the Center for Women’s Health Research and the Sickle Cell Center.
Dr. Archibong holds BSc, MS, PhD, and TS (ABB) degrees. His research program investigates environmental impacts on reproductive health, specializing in how toxins like benzo(a)pyrene and dioxin disrupt endocrine regulation of folliculogenesis, contribute to endometriosis, and cause transgenerational health effects. Key research areas include oxidative stress mechanisms in reproductive toxicology and molecular links between beta-arrestin levels and depression in premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
His current projects include Benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) Effect on Endocrine Regulation of Folliculogenesis and Institutional Bridge Funding Goals Schematic. Dr. Archibong's work bridges basic science (Microbiology, Immunology, Physiology) with clinical applications in Obstetrics & Gynecology through Meharry's Center for Women’s Health Research infrastructure.
