Annika van Hummel is a Mid-Career Research Fellow at Macquarie University's Dementia Research Centre. She completed her PhD in S100 proteins and osteoarthritis at the University of Sydney (2014), followed by postdoctoral work at UNSW's Dementia Research Unit. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Frontotemporal Dementia, and ALS, using genetically modified mice to study cellular mechanisms and test therapies.
