Annie de Bray is a hormone doctor and researcher currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Oxford. She studied medicine at the University of Birmingham and specializes in diabetes and endocrinology. Her research focuses on developing fluorescent tools to study GLP1 and GIP receptor agonists, aiming to understand their molecular mechanisms in treating diabetes and weight loss.
She is affiliated with the Hodson Group: Cellular Metabolism and GPCR Signalling and the Islet Biology Lab. Annie is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and combines clinical training (Specialty Registrar in Diabetes & Endocrinology) with scientific research.
Her work has implications for drug development and patient care, particularly in elucidating how novel hormone-based therapies interact with bodily systems. She actively engages in medical education, having organized national training courses and conferences for endocrinology trainees.
