Miss Annie Rolfe is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Architecture & Built Environment at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), within the Faculty of Engineering. She holds a Master of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Built Environment (Interior Design), both from QUT. Her research focuses on inclusive design principles applied to educational and healthcare environments, emphasizing the impact of physical spaces on wellbeing and learning outcomes. Key areas include school design procurement processes, child advocacy in social services, and accessibility challenges in housing for people with disabilities.
Her work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly in designing environments that promote equitable access and participation. Notable projects include studies on Canadian museums' accessibility and the synthesis of child voices in family support services. Rolfe is also involved in educational pedagogy, developing authentic learning frameworks to teach inclusive design practices to architecture students.
