Annie McDougall is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University's Drug Delivery Disposition & Dynamics department and holds a Senior Research Fellow position at the Burnet Institute (Australia) since March 2021. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to maternal and child health. She has led and contributed to major research projects, including 'Improving Perinatal Outcomes' (NHMRC-funded, 2017–2023) and investigations into fetal lung maturation mechanisms.
Her research focuses on perinatal outcomes, fetal development, and maternal health, with recent studies addressing postpartum hemorrhage prevention, drug quality in pregnancy, and neonatal cardiorespiratory function. She has published 24 peer-reviewed articles and chapters, including a 2024 review on obstetric care bundles.
