Annette Richards is the Foundation Professor in the Humanities and University Organist at Cornell University, and Executive Director of the Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies. She specializes in 18th-century music aesthetics, interdisciplinary studies between music and visual culture, and the organ. Her research focuses on C. P. E. Bach, music history, and the intersection of performance with technology and the senses. She holds a PhD from Stanford University and performer’s diploma from the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam.

Her research interests include music aesthetics, performance practice, and the cultural history of musical instruments. She has received fellowships from the Mellon Foundation and Humboldt Foundation, and her recordings feature on Loft Recordings.
