Dr. Ir. Anneleen Kuijsten is an academic lecturer and researcher at the Department of Human Nutrition, Wageningen University & Research. Her work focuses on integrating health and environmental sustainability through nutritional epidemiology and public health research. She specializes in developing food-based dietary guidelines that balance affordability, safety, and environmental impact across global contexts.
Key research areas include sustainable diets, plant-based nutrition, and the assessment of dietary patterns' environmental footprints. She contributes to curriculum development for master’s programs in Nutrition and Health, emphasizing sustainable food systems. Supervising BSc, MSc, and PhD students, her academic mentorship bridges environmental science and nutritional health.
