Anneke Janzen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, within the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on zooarchaeology, stable isotope analysis, and ZooMS, with a regional emphasis on Africa and the Southern Caucasus.

Her work investigates human-animal relationships in prehistoric societies, including the development of pastoralism, early herd management practices, and mobility patterns of herders in eastern Africa.
