Anne Weber is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). Her research emphasizes rural landscapes, particularly those involving extraction, production, and conservation, addressing climate change through design. She has a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Yale University.
Her professional work includes projects such as Petrochemical America, Midtown Center Plaza, Hudson Riverport, and the Town Branch Water Walk, a podcast tour exploring urban streams. These efforts have earned her awards like the 2020 ASLA-NY Merit Award and the APA KY Planning Award for Civic Engagement. Research grants include support from the Water Resource Institute, Penny White Traveling Grant, Peter Walker Fellowship, and Lewis Hine Documentary Fellowship.
Dr. Weber taught courses like LA 6940 Rural Adaptation Research Seminar and LA 6010 Black Dirt Studio at Cornell, as well as at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, the University of Kentucky, and the Rhode Island School of Design. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station, Biological and Environmental Engineering, and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology departments, focusing on community-driven environmental solutions.
