Dr. Anne Spice is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Toronto (Scarborough campus). She belongs to the inland Tlingit, Deishuhíttaan clan (Carcross Tagish/Tlingit), and is a member of Kwanlin Dün First Nation. Her work bridges Indigenous geographies, histories, and futures of resistance, with a focus on anti-colonial methodologies and Indigenous sovereignty. She holds a PhD (2022) from the CUNY Graduate Center.
Research interests include environmental justice, climate change, grassroots activism, resource extraction, food studies, queer Indigenous feminism, and Indigenous ancestral tattooing. Her activism spans Indigenous land re-occupations since 2015, emphasizing poetry, art, and community-based practices. She resides in Tkaronto (Toronto).
