Professor Shelley L. Craig is a Canada Research Chair in Sexual and Gender Minority Youth at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. With a PhD from Florida International University, her research program focuses on cultivating resilience in marginalized populations through innovative community-based interventions.
Her primary research examines:
- Needs assessment of sexual/gender minority youth
- Development of tailored mental health interventions
- Role of health social workers in addressing social determinants
- Competency development in social work education
Her recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on digital resilience, community-based interventions, and mental health disparities in LGBTQ+ populations. Research employs mixed methods including digital ethnography and community participatory approaches.
