Anne S. Ulrich is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), holding a chair since 2002 and leading a research group at the Karlsruhe Research Centre. She also serves as Director of the Institute of Biological Interfaces (IBG2) since 2005.
- Education: Gymnasium in Buchholz (1976-1985), BA/MA in Chemistry at University of Oxford (1985-1989), PhD in Biochemistry at Oxford (1989-1993), Postdoc at EMBL Heidelberg (1993-1995)
- Habilitation in Biochemistry at Heidelberg University (1999)
Her research focuses on structural analysis of membrane proteins using solid-state NMR spectroscopy and biophysical methods to understand molecular transport mechanisms. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed works and patents.
Key awards include the Karl Winnacker Prize (2001), Heinz Maier Leibnitz award (DFG, 1999), and EMBO Longterm Fellowship (1993-1995). She has supervised 20 dissertations and 40 Diplom theses.
