Anne Prouteau

Anne Prouteau is a Lecturer in French Literature at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Angers (UCO Angers). She holds a Doctorate in French Literature from the University of Nantes (2006) and serves as Academic Director of the Department of Modern Literature and General Delegate for Cultural Life. Her research focuses on Albert Camus, contemporary literature, and literary theory.

Her key roles include leadership positions in academic administration and scholarly societies. She is President of the Society for Camusian Studies and editor of the journal Présence d'Albert Camus. Her work often intersects with religious and philosophical dimensions of literature, particularly exploring Camus's engagement with morality, spirituality, and historical contexts.

Her publications (2006–2024) include monographs on Camus's oeuvre, edited volumes on creative writing and cultural representation, and critical articles analyzing Camus's relationships with other writers like Claude Vigée. Recent research highlights include studies on Camus's connections to religious communities and historical resistance movements.

Awarded membership in the Literary Academy of Brittany and Pays de la Loire (2018), she actively participates in academic conferences and thesis supervision. She has organized major Camusian studies events and collaborates internationally on interdisciplinary literary projects.
