Prof. Anne O'Connor is a Senior Lecturer in Italian at the University of Galway, where she has been teaching since 2003. She currently serves as Director of the Anderson Centre. Her research focuses on 19th-century history and literature, translation studies, travel literature, transnational Ireland, cultural mediators, language pedagogy, and community-based learning. She holds prestigious awards from institutions such as the IRC, IRCHSS, Royal Irish Academy, NAIRTL, AHRC, and the European Union. Her scholarly contributions include the book Translation and Language in Nineteenth-Century Ireland: A European Perspective.
