Anne-Marie van Prooijen

Dr. Anne-Marie van Prooijen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Media and Communication within the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainable transitions, consumer behavior, and organizational communication, with a particular emphasis on employee ambassadorship in social media contexts. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through the ROCCS and STiCS research clusters, addressing topics like responsible organizations and sustainable food systems.

Her work has received notable recognition, including the 2024 Best Full Paper Award and the 2014 Best Paper Award from the Society for Risk Analysis. She actively organizes academic events, such as the Etmaal van de Communicatiewetenschap, and collaborates internationally on projects involving sustainability, consumer psychology, and cross-cultural CSR strategies.

Key research interests include the psychological impacts of CSR communication, employee advocacy on social networks, and the role of morality and competence in organizational attractiveness. Her articles explore topics ranging from carbon paw prints in dog food products to the effects of economics education on belief systems.
