Anne-Marie Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at York University’s Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. She holds a PhD from McMaster University, an MA from Rutgers University, and a BA from Case Western Reserve University.
Her research spans Classical literature, astronomy in Roman culture, and Neo-Latin studies, with emphases on Vergilian scholarship and Renaissance Neo-Latin texts. She authored the monograph Celestial Inclinations: A Life of Augustus (Oxford University Press, 2023) exploring astrological themes in Augustus' reign.
She has served as Editor of Amphora (American Society for Classical Studies) and President of the American Association for Neo-Latin Studies.
