Anne I. Caldwell

Anne I. Caldwell is an Associate Professor at the University of Louisville, specializing in political theory with a focus on contemporary continental thought, feminist theory, and queer politics. She holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame (1998), an MA from the same institution (1995), and a BA from UC Berkeley (1992).

Her research interrogates intersections of power, bio-politics, and sovereignty, particularly through the lens of Michel Foucault. Recent work examines post-9/11 state exceptionalism, media representations of power, and normative frameworks for human rights.
