Anne García-Romero is a Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame, with affiliations as a Fellow at the Institute for Latino Studies, Kellogg Institute for International Studies, and Nanovic Institute for European Studies. Her research focuses on playwriting, screenwriting, Latinx/Latin American theatre studies, and the intersection of Spanish and English-speaking cultural narratives.
Her creative works include acclaimed plays such as Lorca in New York, Paloma, and Earthquake Chica, produced at institutions like the Public Theatre, Goodman Theatre, and the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. She has also translated The Gröholm Method and contributed to The María Irene Fornés Institute through her role in the Latinx Theatre Commons.
Recent scholarly contributions include analyzing post-dictatorship Southern Cone theatre and the legacy of María Irene Fornés.
