Anne C. Black is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and a Research Health Scientist at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her work focuses on health services research, particularly nonpharmacologic approaches to chronic pain management, long-term opioid therapy, opioid-related harms, and medications for opioid use disorder.
- Education: PhD in Educational Psychology/Measurement, Evaluation and Assessment from the University of Connecticut (2008).
Her research spans chronic pain, mental health, statistical modeling, opioid-related disorders, and treatment outcomes. She collaborates with leading researchers such as Marc Rosen, David Fiellin, and William Becker, and her work often addresses public health challenges in veteran populations and communities of color.
Recent trends in her publications include studies on:
- Opioid overdose prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Complementary therapies for chronic pain
- PTSD symptom dynamics in veterans
