Anne Bassand

Anne Bassand serves as Professor of Harp at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) within the School of Music's Institute for Classical and Church Music. She concurrently holds teaching positions in chamber music at Lausanne Academy of Music and harp didactics at Geneva Academy of Music.

Her academic training includes:

• Geneva Conservatory (harp with Catherine Eisenhoffer)
• Paris Ecole Normale (with Marie-Claire Jamet)
• Indiana University (with Susann McDonald)
• Additional mentorship from Pierre Jamet and György Sebök

Bassand specializes in contemporary harp performance and innovative pedagogy, with artistic focus on premiering new works and developing reflective teaching methodologies. Her research integrates performance practice with harp technique transmission across educational levels.

• USA International Harp Competition laureate (1992)

As core member of Geneva's Ensemble Contrechamps, she has premiered compositions by Kampela and Blank. Her performance career spans major festivals including Salzburg, Wien Modern, and Festival d'Automne, documented through multiple CD recordings of classical and contemporary repertoire. Current projects include Boulez tribute concerts (2025) and ongoing pedagogical development at Geneva Academy of Music.
