Annalise Baines is a Senior Lecturer (Oberassistentin) and Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the University of Zurich, Department of Communication and Media Research. She joined in September 2023, following her PhD at the University of Kansas and work at the KU Center for Digital Inclusion. Her research focuses on digital communication’s role in health and science communication, emphasizing marginalized groups’ access to information and emerging technologies like VR/AI through a diversity lens.
Her education includes a PhD from the University of Kansas, United States. Her work bridges health communication, digital inclusion, and social justice, particularly addressing underserved populations’ information literacy and technology adoption. Research interests include pandemic-related health communication, misinformation dynamics, and intersectional approaches to labor organizing in media.
