معرفی
Annalea Lohila is a Professor at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Science, affiliated with the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR). Her research focuses on greenhouse gas dynamics, carbon cycle processes in ecosystems, and atmospheric interactions. She leads projects addressing climate change mitigation strategies in peatlands and boreal forests, with a particular interest in ecosystem-atmosphere interactions and biogeochemical cycles.
Key research interests include:
- Greenhouse gas emissions from peatlands and forests
- Carbon sequestration potential of ecosystems
- Climate feedback mechanisms in Arctic and boreal regions
- Impact of land-use changes on carbon budgets
Recent publications highlight advancements in measuring carbon fluxes, understanding subarctic fen dynamics, and evaluating climate policy implications of land management. She has been involved in major initiatives such as the ICOS research infrastructure and EU-funded projects like TUPSU and MULTA. Her work bridges field measurements with modeling to improve climate prediction and mitigation strategies.
Current projects include TUPSU (2024–2026) focusing on climate-investment strategies, and MULTA (2022–2025) exploring sustainable agricultural practices. She supervises doctoral research in atmospheric sciences and ecological systems.
