Annabelle Hofer

Dr. Annabelle Hofer is a Junior Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo Faculty) at the University of Cologne since September 2022. Her research is part of the Key Research Initiative: Behavioral Management Science (BMS) at the university.

Dr. Hofer's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on career development, career insecurity, and organizational behavior across multiple contexts. Her work examines how organizational factors influence career trajectories, with particular attention to career shocks, psychological climate, and occupational commitment across the lifespan. Her research bridges theoretical organizational psychology with practical applications for workforce management in contemporary economic contexts, especially addressing challenges in the platform economy and precarious work arrangements.

Dr. Hofer completed her Doctor Philosophiae at the University of Bern (Switzerland) between 2016-2019, following a Master of Science in Psychology from Trier University (Germany) (2014-2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same institution (2010-2014). Prior to her current position, she worked as a Research Associate and Lecturer at multiple Swiss institutions including Bern University of Teacher Education and University of Bern (2019-2022).
